VCRA Registration

In order to buy an Airsoft Gun you must be over 18.

In addition, you must be able to prove that you are an airsoft skirmisher to buy Realistic Imitation Firearms. (RIFs).

Airsoft site registration’, is one way to prove that you are an airsofter and have the defence in law that allows you to buy airsoft RIFs and comply with the VCRA (Violent Crime Reduction Act).

To become a UKARA registered airsoft player you are required to take part in three games at the same UKARA registered game site over a minimum of two months, e.g. the third game being 56 days or more after the first.

You must be over 18 years of age and be able to provide some form of identification such as Passport, Drivers License or Bank Statement.   Online Application

There is now the ability to fill out your application online: Online application form The above will take you to an online player form which will allow you to apply to register through Fireball Squadron Fireball will receive a copy of your application and the process of registration can then be completed by us and you, when on site.

Once the criteria has been fulfilled you will then be added to the database, this will allow any UKARA retailer to check your eligibility to purchase RIFs in compliance with the VCRA. The system is also monitored by UK Customs.

The "Player" will remain on the Database for a maximum of 12 months and then the registration will require renewal by Fireball as per the VCRA regulations. (Fireball can terminate your membership at any time in which case your registration will lapse and you would need to re-register with an alternate site.

Players can be registered through more than one site, but each registration would be unique.)

Until then there are a few options ....

Hire guns:
Chargeable at our standard rate, be sure to reserve your gun early!

You can borrow a RIF off a friend.

Buy a TWO TONE Imitation Firearm (IF):
Players over the age of 18 can buy TWO TONE imitation Firearms (IFs). However, these must be temporarily covered during airsoft games at Fireball Sqn. (We suggest scrim netting or black tape - this should be removed when travelling to and from site).

Important Legal Notices

It is illegal to paint (or modify) these to look more realistic until you can avail yourself of the airsofters' defence.

As it is illegal to sell RIFs to people who are not eligible, players and retailers are very cautious about whom they sell their RIFs to.

Site registration is a clear way of demonstrating to retailers and private sellers that you are eligible to buy RIFs.

Attempting to ‘work around’ the current legislation puts our hobby at risk!

Fireball Sqn take a firm line against players attempting to circumvent current legislation.
