Woodland walk on day.
At the February game, during the pre-game safety briefing, I gave a summary of the Home Office current position/view regarding airsoft power limits. I stated that in our (FB squadron) view, the site limits we impose fall within the HO best practice guidelines. It was also stated that it is the players’ responsibility to ensure that their guns fall below these limits and if guns firing above this limit are found to be used in a game we would ask theplayer to leave the site!
(We have no problem with people bringing guns to test and consign to the kitbag or car if needed.)
During the day, a CO2 powered pistol was found to be firing above our site limits. Fortunately the pistol had not been in use during games. No great problem except that the player involved had previously had the gun checked (in the summer) and at that point the power fell (just) within our site limits. He therefore assumed that the gun was still ok to use.
This is where caution is needed. If you visit Fireball with a gun that is close to our site limits, get it checked. Keep checking it through the day. The chronograph is available at all times.
Things do change. BBs change between batches and manufacturers. Ambient conditions change. In the case mentioned above, CO2 power caplets change.
Do not assume that a guns power will remain constant.
It is the players’ responsibility to get to know how guns function and what makes them tick.
The point is this. Our site limits are 328 fps with a 0.2g bb.
We have a TOLERANCE of approximately 10% to allow for a little variance between chronographs, ambient conditions, bb types etc. We therefore state a maximum permitted fps of 360.
This tolerance should not be used as a green light to set you gun to shoot at 359.99999 fps.
Do not be surprised if we do not allow you to use guns that approach this maximum.
If you suspect your gun to be close to this. Check it regularly!
We (technical whizz kid again) have updated our public forums to allow you to sell your airsoft equipment.
Please abide by the VCRA and be sure that your purchasers meet the requirements!

You may have had a little trouble accessing the public forums. Our technical whizz kid has been doing his voodoo and so things should be better now. Use the link on this page to go to a new login screen. The forum will be tweaked a little further in the coming days and weeks.
Sorry for any inconvenience.

After the last meeting with the UKASGB where two tone gunes were discussed. Fireball will be changing our policy towards two tone guns to be more in line with the rest of the UKASGB in order to make it easier for players to enter airsoft.
We will allow two tone guns to be used on site under the following conditions;
You can prove that you are registered with another club and have not yet completed the requesit number of games. Or You join Fireballs registration scheme.
You will be required to cover your gun during the days play with scrim net or tape, this is so that other players enjoment of the sport is not diminished.
Once you are registered with us or another club, you will be required to either replace it with a rif or permamnently cover it such as with Krylon paint.
Regards
Nick
